Installation Guide for MMR Differential Mounts (Mazda FC Rx-7 and Miata)

    1. Remove differential from vehicle.

        A. Unbolt axle shafts from stub shafts and move them out of the way.

        B. Support differential with a floor jack.

        C. Unbolt front differential mount (Rx-7) or Power Plant Frame mount (Miata).

        D. Remove nuts and retaining caps on rear differential mounts.

        E. Lower differential from vehicle.  USE CAUTION, DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY IS VERY HEAVY.

    2. Remove original differential mounts.

        A. Securely locate the differential assembly so that you can safely work on it.

        B. OPTIONAL.  Drill out the rubber around the inner sleeve in the mount.

        C. Using a punch and a hammer, tap the outer shells of the original mount out of the housing from the bottom side.

        D. Using a soft face hammer or a conventional hammer and a block of wood, install the new MMR mounts.  The mounts should be

snug fit so a fair amount of force may be nessacery.  Don't worry, the mounts won't break.  Make sure that the lip on the

mount is fully seated against the differential housing.

    3. Reinstall the differential using the reverse of step one.

Note:  When installing rear differential mount caps tighten them until the metal part of the caps touches the new differential

mounts. Then torque as is appropriate.
